Summary:

Ekko is different from other similar devices in that it offers multi-user connectivity. Device consists of docking station that wirelessly charges 4 individual ekkos, base unit also acts as receiver for your audio input. HUB supports common wireless standards and has plenty of wires connectivity options.

I am somewhat disappointed that individual ekkos are not self sufficient, if this functionality was present - it would make the device far more appealing and practic

Ever wanted to make your wired headphones wireless? HUB from ekko is trying to do exactly that, well sort of..

Find out if you should hop on-board.

Ekko is a small peace of wireless technology with a battery, few buttons and 3,5mm jack to plug in your headphones. Once plugged in, put it in your pocket and and enjoy somewhat wireless listening experience!

Here is how developers describe HUB | ekko: “Share hi-fi audio to multiple users for a real-time, wireless listening experience unlike anything you’ve heard”

Device consists of docking station that wirelessly charges 4 or 2 individual ekkos, base unit also acts as receiver for your audio input. HUB supports common wireless standards and has plenty of wires connectivity options, so I will not go in to details on that.

These small devices let everyone listen to same audio source and customize the audio experience, you can reduce volume and change other parameters but all that when using same audio source.. But. Can these things be used individually?

I mean can I grab one and listen to my phone, while someone else watches TV? So far it seems like a no, this product is positioned as living room entertainment device.

Is HUB | ekko Practical?

5280f2f7d24c2e04d5851f764b7f9af7_originalEkko is a niche product that offers convenience to headphone users.

In some households headphones play vital role in keeping people sane, it is hard to listen to video games if you are not actively involved, so headphones offer a nice solution. Adding wireless connectivity is convenient.

It seems that product is really geared toward people that tend to use headphones allot in the living room, so if you are one of those “groups” HUB ekko can be practical for you.

I am somewhat disappointed that individual ekkos are not self sufficient, if this functionality was present – it would make the device far more appealing and practical.

Perhaps one great way to take advantage of ekko is to connect them to custom speakers around the house, but you will need to add wireless charging to keep them running.

Will HUB | ekko Deliver if funded?

Funding goal was set bit it seems that target will be exceeded considerably, time-frame is also realistic will deliveries to backers estimated around May
