iShowFast is the World’s Fastest Apple Lightning USB 3.0 Flash Drive, allowing you to transfer data (photos, music, video) between computers and iOS devices (iPhone, iPad & iPod touch) in no time, without the need for iTunes or the Cloud.
How does iShowFast work?
Technology behind the product is rather simple and it looks like any other USB memory stick, but while on one side it has USB 3 port the other holds apple lightning connector. Move the slide and you can choose which side to use.
This is second project Hyper is funding using crowd funding – giving some confidence that it will be delivered.
Big step forward is speed, by moving to USB 3.0 bandwidth increased considerably and your files will make it to this flash-drive rather quickly. We do appreciate additional speed but does it justify another $60?
Is iShowFast practical?
We do not question practicality of iShowFast, users have already shown great appreciating for similar devices, rather we will talk about how practical it is to back this device over similar alternatives and if upgrade to USB 3.0 is really worth the money.
By now everyone is used to cheap USB storage but this device starts at $60.00 for 16GB version – huhh? Yepp, and 128 gig of storage will run you $199
So it runs rather pricey, with bulk of users opting to go for mid-range 64 GB version priced at $99.
After using similar storage solutions, there are few things that are worth mentioning: yes this is additional sapce, but it is not on-demand. You can save movies, songs, or pictures but you need to plug your it in to your phone to use it. And keeping it attached is not that convenient. You plug it in get what you need and unplug it.
If only phone manufacturers added microSD card to every phone, our lives would be so much better – right?
But main feature is the concept of seamless file-transfer without the need for apple device synchronization, and this is where iShowFast really does make a difference with higher speed, just keep in mind that your computer must have USB 3 as well(it probably does, just make sure).
Will iShowFast campaign deliver if funded?
Expected delivery time is “by November 2015” – with campaign ending in November, hmm. We have issues with that. Pricing is realistic and company can deliver, very likely with some delays.
